Otero College Phlebotomy Training Highlights

• Designed to prepare students for entry-level Phlebotomy employment.
• Combines online/hybrid learning with classroom study, laboratory assignments, and supervised clinical experience.
• Follows NAACLS phlebotomy competencies guidelines.
• Upon successful completion, students receive a certificate of completion from Otero College.
• Prepares students to apply for the national certification exam for the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and other certifying agencies.
• Includes a required internship with 100 clinical hours and performance of 100 successful unaided blood collections.
• Provides instruction in a variety of phlebotomy techniques and exposure to diverse patient types.
