This 15-credit, 3-month course prepares students for the Washington State Department of Health Medical Assistant Phlebotomy certificate. The program dives into basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, ethical and legal issues, safety protocols, infection control, and specialized blood collection techniques. Students will master venipuncture and capillary blood collection, along with EKG and vital signs assessment. Successful completion of the program also includes certifications in BLS and HIV/AIDS.
